What We Provide

Beam Support offers two distinct pathways:

  • Ofsted-registered supported accommodation for looked-after children and care leavers aged 16 and 17 (Ofsted URN 2756846). Delivered through two registered homes.
  • Semi-independent provision for young people aged 18 and over. These homes sit outside the Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations 2023 and are not Ofsted-registered.

All our staffed homes are small by design, accommodating 3 to 4 young people. This allows us to provide individual attention, careful matching, and a calm, family-style environment.

We have been providing care for young people for over 9 years. Our Registered Manager brings more than 15 years of experience in the social care sector.

How Referrals Work

  1. Share key information about the young person's needs, history and any risk factors

  2. We discuss matching against our current property and outreach/floating support capacity, along with availability and support levels

  3. If suitable, we arrange a visit or virtual introduction with the young person and their social worker

  4. Placement begins with a clear support plan (reflected in the young person's Pathway Plan) and regular review points

We aim to respond promptly to all referrals and work collaboratively with social workers, personal advisers and local authorities throughout the placement.

Clients Feedback

Our Clients Speak: Feedback and Insights

I have been asked to provide a reference for Beam support services, which I am happy to do. I have been working alongside Beam support since one of my young people started residing in one of the companies care homes in February 2019.

My young person has complex needs. She has emotional dysregulation, problems with behavioural conduct and substance misuse. My young person experienced a number of home breakdowns before she was accommodated by Beam services. My young person has now been at Beam for over two years. This is the longest home my young person has ever had.

My young person has managed to build positive relationships with staff and whilst it has not always been plain sailing, the home has stuck by the young person and supported her through all her highs and lows. Her behaviour has definitely improved over time, she is less confrontational; and will contact staff when she is out of home to let staff know that she is safe.

Staff have a good understanding of the missing person’s procedure, and their communication with children services is also very good. I regularly receive email updates and summaries of the young person’s progress in home; and staff have always attended meetings that I have arranged. I have enjoyed working with Beam and I thank them for all the support they have provided to my young person over the years, I feel it has made a real difference to her life and provided her with a sense of stability which she had not had before

Kelly HealySocial Worker at Harrow Children’s Services

We have a number of young people living in Beams supported accomodation houses. The staff are very helpful and took the initiative to support the young people with their appointments and to get settled locally when they arrive. Also, we have found the staff to be responsive and easy to contact. The young people are provided with their own reasonably sized rooms with access to a TV, fridge, Wi-Fi and Netflix access which helped during the Covid lock down. The rest of the shared areas are nice and well maintained and the kitchens are fully equipped.

I want to acknowledge with you the good work you and your staff have completed with my young person throughout her home at Beam Support. My young person has been provided with consistent daily support to encourage her to attend and access, Education, Training, Employment, GP, Dental, Optical and specialist appointments. I have been particularly impressed with your staff’s ability to go the extra mile even when they are consistently challenged. Your commitment to supporting my young person to attain positive outcomes has underpinned the foundation of her care plan.

Frequently Asked Questions

What age group does Beam Support cater to?

We support young people aged 16 and 17 through Ofsted-registered supported accommodation, and young people aged 18 and over through semi-independent provision — including staffed homes and, at one property, a floating support model. Every service is tailored to individual needs. Our supported accommodation placements are carefully matched based on suitability, with dedicated homes for young people aged 16–17 in Ofsted-registered supported accommodation, and separate provision for young people aged 18 and over in our semi-independent service. We also provide floating support, outreach services, and community support, which can support a wider range of individuals depending on their specific needs and circumstances.

Where are your homes located and are they staffed?

We operate four homes across Harrow, London. Our staffed homes are supported 24 hours a day by experienced support workers, except the home where we provide floating support for young adults. Staffing for floating support is provided based on the support needs of the young person.

How do I make a referral to Beam Support?

Referrals can be made by contacting Beam Support directly through our Contact Us page or by speaking with a member of our team. We will discuss the individual’s needs, placement requirements and suitability before progressing the referral.

Is Beam Support regulated by Ofsted?

Our supported accommodation service for 16 and 17 year olds is registered with and inspected by Ofsted, URN 2756846. Our semi-independent provision for young people aged 18 and over sits outside Ofsted’s supported accommodation regulations, and is run to the same high internal safeguarding standard.
