About Us

About Beam Support

At Beam Support, we believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to live safely, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential.

We provide high-quality supported accommodation, outreach services, and community-based support designed to help individuals build independence, improve wellbeing, and create brighter futures.

Whether supporting a young person leaving care, an adult experiencing social isolation, a family requiring additional assistance, or a housing provider seeking tenancy sustainment support, our dedicated team delivers flexible, person-centred services that create meaningful and lasting outcomes.

Our Mission

Our Mission

Our mission is to support young people aged 16 and 17 in Ofsted-registered supported accommodation, and young people aged 18 and over in semi-independent provision, helping them reach their full potential in life.

We do this by providing an enabling family environment where young people feel cared for and supported in safe, welcoming homes. We help young people develop the confidence, independence and practical life skills they need to progress towards greater independence and become productive members of society.

Our support team incorporates fully vetted professionals who work collaboratively to provide consistent, person-centred support and maintain an enabling environment that helps the young people placed with us to feel safe, valued and supported.

Our semi-independent provision supports young people aged 18 and over as they develop greater independence and prepare for the next stage of their lives.

This provision sits outside the Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations 2023 and is not Ofsted-registered.

Our Ethos

Our ethos is to promote the values of healthy family lifestyle and provide young people with structure, personal space, respect and a relaxing environment which fosters a safe, comfortable and enabling family environment for young people.

Our Values

Bespoke Care

Our homes accommodate three to four young people. This ensures that the quality of our service is maintained within the home and the young person can benefit from tailored and specialised support.

Strategic Compatibility

The referrals that we accept will be matched to the other young people within the homes to ensure positive relationships.

Empowerment through Recognition

The young person’s achievements and successes will be celebrated to encourage their development and boost their self- esteem.

Organisational Integrity

Beam Support will foster camaraderie, open communication and transparency.

Personal development

Our Objectives

Beam's way of facilitating personal development within our semi-independent unit is through:

  • Identifying and channelling talents and interests through to fruition of their objectives
  • Development of personal and social (community) responsibility.
  • Supporting young people in gaining work experience through internships or apprenticeships and developing employability and soft skills.
  • Encouraging teamwork and team building.
  • Facilitating the journey to independent living through “learning by doing”.
  • Providing support in education, or vocational training or employment.
  • Skill building in gardening, grounds maintenance, catering and cleaning.

Our Development Strategy

Beam Support’s developmental strategy not only incorporates a fully vetted team of professionals such as mentors and keyworkers who collectively provide 24 hours supervision within the home, but we also provide a nurturing environment which supports a stimulating family environment.

The young people within our home are provided with opportunities for developing their full potential. Their development covers areas which include, but are not limited to, their emotional health, physical health, education and training, healthy social interactions and independent living skills, such as budgeting, shopping, managing bank accounts, cooking, cleaning and personal hygiene.

Social interactions are encouraged through activities such as meeting with friends, playing board games with other young people within the home, table tennis, playing musical instruments, going to the cinema, or attending local clubs and home outings.

Our Mentor

Our mentors are experienced in working with young people, helping them to gain confidence and independence in a caring and understanding environment.

Our Keyworkers

Our keyworker approach is to provide practical and emotional support that fosters trusting relationships between the keyworkers and the young people. Thereby enabling the young people with confidence which builds their self-esteem and helps them achieve the best outcomes.

The young people who are placed with Beam Support have access to the different professionals according to their needs and interest. Each young person receives a minimum of 5 hours per week, in 1 on 1 support and guidance in the areas outlined above. This further enables the young people reach their full potential as individuals.

Our Homes

Beam Support operates five homes across Harrow, each providing a safe, stable and nurturing environment for our young people. Harrow is a leafy, cosmopolitan suburb of London with a rich historical background, tracing its roots as far back as the era of King Henry VIII. The borough offers beautiful scenery alongside excellent local amenities.

Harrow benefits from strong transport links and is approximately 15 minutes from Central London via the Metropolitan Line from Harrow-on-the-Hill station. Young people also have access to a wide range of buses and trains, as well as local beauty shops, hairdressers, barbers, a cinema and various shopping options.

Our homes are located within easy reach of schools, Further Education colleges, the University of Westminster, Northwick Park Hospital, and both St. Ann’s and St. George’s shopping centres. There are also several gyms nearby, along with parks and open spaces suitable for cycling, football and outdoor recreation.

Within each supported accommodation home, every young person has their own bedroom with space to relax, study or enjoy leisure activities. They also have access to shared facilities including a kitchen, bathroom, dining area and lounge, with additional toilets available across different floors.

As part of our progression pathway, once a young person has gained sufficient independence and no longer requires 24-hour support, they may move into a more independent shared flat. Beam Support can continue to provide ongoing help through outreach support, ensuring young people still receive personalised guidance tailored to their individual needs as they transition towards full independence.

Clients Feedback

Our Clients Speak: Feedback and Insights

I have been asked to provide a reference for Beam support services, which I am happy to do. I have been working alongside Beam support since one of my young people started residing in one of the companies care homes in February 2019.

My young person has complex needs. She has emotional dysregulation, problems with behavioural conduct and substance misuse. My young person experienced a number of home breakdowns before she was accommodated by Beam services. My young person has now been at Beam for over two years. This is the longest home my young person has ever had.

My young person has managed to build positive relationships with staff and whilst it has not always been plain sailing, the home has stuck by the young person and supported her through all her highs and lows. Her behaviour has definitely improved over time, she is less confrontational; and will contact staff when she is out of home to let staff know that she is safe.

Staff have a good understanding of the missing person’s procedure, and their communication with children services is also very good. I regularly receive email updates and summaries of the young person’s progress in home; and staff have always attended meetings that I have arranged. I have enjoyed working with Beam and I thank them for all the support they have provided to my young person over the years, I feel it has made a real difference to her life and provided her with a sense of stability which she had not had before

Kelly HealySocial Worker at Harrow Children’s Services

We have a number of young people living in Beams supported accomodation houses. The staff are very helpful and took the initiative to support the young people with their appointments and to get settled locally when they arrive. Also, we have found the staff to be responsive and easy to contact. The young people are provided with their own reasonably sized rooms with access to a TV, fridge, Wi-Fi and Netflix access which helped during the Covid lock down. The rest of the shared areas are nice and well maintained and the kitchens are fully equipped.

AnutaSocial Worker, City of London

I want to acknowledge with you the good work you and your staff have completed with my young person throughout her home at Beam Support. My young person has been provided with consistent daily support to encourage her to attend and access, Education, Training, Employment, GP, Dental, Optical and specialist appointments. I have been particularly impressed with your staff’s ability to go the extra mile even when they are consistently challenged. Your commitment to supporting my young person to attain positive outcomes has underpinned the foundation of her care plan.
